Fargo Ranks in Top 100 Best Places to Live
October 16, 2013
Fargo is making it onto another big list.
The city is ranked 98 in the top 100 best places in the country to live by livability.com.
Most of Fargo's close to 110,000 people didn't end up here or stay here on accident.
"Well, I've been here for about 60 years, I enjoy it very much," said Fargo resident Audrey Hahn.
A research team ranked cities in eight categories including amenities, demographics and economics.
And Fargo ranked very high in healthcare and education.
"I love Fargo, I mean, I go to college at NDSU and I think it’s probably the best fit that it could be for me," said Fargo resident Brittany Diederich.
"It might not have all the perks of a bigger city but you still have all the amenities of a bigger city, to a point. Yet you still get the somewhat small town feel that you may want, especially walking down here on Broadway," said Fargo resident Mason Leemund.
The President and CEO of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce, Craig Whitney, says this is just another way Fargo is being put on the map.
"So this is good news again for Fargo. It’s another list that we’ve ended up appearing on, ranking very high and for no surprise. I mean the livability reasons that they listed us as scoring high are obvious," said Whitney.
A total of 1700 cities were analyzed for the list...making Fargo's ranking a strong testament to a growing community.
North Dakota was also ranked the top state for young people by moneyrates.com.
